How It Works Technically
The pipeline has three stages:
- Transcription — Whisper AI processes the audio and produces a timestamped transcript. This handles multiple speakers, accents, and technical vocabulary far better than any browser-based alternative.
- AI Summarisation — The BART large model reads the transcript and generates a concise summary capturing the main discussion points and outcomes.
- Pattern Extraction — Regular expression patterns detect action item and decision language, extracting the relevant sentences and formatting them as a structured list.
Accuracy and Realistic Expectations
The summary and action item extraction work well when meeting participants use explicit language. "I will send the contract by Friday" is reliably detected as an action item. Implicit agreements and tasks that emerge from long discussion without being explicitly stated may be missed.
